Dermot Weld admits Golden Horn will be tough to beat in the Investec Derby but he is happy with the way Zawraq is progressing ahead of the Classic.

The Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned colt bypassed his intended prep in the Derrinstown Derby Trial as he had missed a piece of work and Weld did not want to risk him on very soft ground.

Zawraq had the option of running in the Irish Guineas but connections decided to take the brave route and aim towards Epsom instead.

"No great decision has been made, but we're pretty certain he'll go straight to the Derby," Weld told At The Races.

"Everyone knows he had a little hold up but he's coming back now nice and quietly. Epsom is still a few weeks away yet but he's progressing nicely.
