The Grey Gatsby and Free Eagle are two of the star names among 10 horses in contention for Sunday's Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh.

The Grey Gatsby enjoyed an exceptional three-year-old campaign for Kevin Ryan in 2014, landing the Dante at York, the French Derby at Chantilly and the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown.

He was beaten into second on his return to action in the Dubai Turf at Meydan in March and steps back up to a mile and a quarter for his return to Ireland.

The lightly-raced Free Eagle made just two starts in 2014, winning impressively at Leopardstown before finishing an excellent third in the Champion Stakes at Ascot.

He is one of three possible runners for Dermot Weld in this weekend's Group One contest, with Fascinating Rock and Good Tradition also in contention for the master of Rosewell House.

Roger Charlton's multiple Group One winner Al Kazeem and Postponed from Luca Cumani's yard could join The Grey Gatsby on the trip across the Irish Sea.
