Jim Goldie aims to continue good run

Jim Goldie is looking to keep his purple patch going in the feature race at Hamilton Park on Wednesday night.

The Renfrewshire trainer saddles Fergal Lynch-ridden Rasaman, one of ten runners declared for the Taggarts Jaguar XE Handicap.

Goldie said: "He's never won at Hamilton but it's not for the want of trying as he's peppered the winners' enclosure with a few placed efforts! He was third over course and distance the other day and should be there or thereabouts again.

"I'm not sure about being drawn in stall ten as we'd rather be in the middle but we can't do anything about that. He might be eleven and not won a race for nearly a couple of years but Dhaular Dhar is thirteen and he was one of our winners on Monday which proves age is no barrier!"

Among the opposition to Rasaman is Linda Perratt's Rock Canyon who makes the short journey from his East Kilbride yard.

Owned by the trainer's mother, he has already won twice at Ayr this spring and was a close second at his local venue just six days ago.

Goldie is also represented by Latin Rebel, a five-time course runner-up, who faces twelve rivals in the Racing UK Handicap.
