Top trainer Richard Fahey guides us through an impressive Saturday team, including his three runners in the Northumberland Plate.

Another busy Saturday for the team but I’m going to be at Newcastle where we saddle three in the feature John Smith’s Northumberland Plate (3.45).

Angel Gabrial didn’t get the trip in the Chester Cup but he ran well when third to Clever Cookie at York. Jack Garritty rides him out and is delighted with him – it’s probably the best we’ve had him. He won the race last year and it’s very much a case of horses for course up there so we’re hopeful.

Tony Hamilton is mad keen on Gabrial’s Star and he’s also as good as we’ve had him at the moment. If you’d told me he’d be running in Chester Cups and the Northumberland Plate when we first got him I’d have said ‘no chance’, but he’s improved an awful lot.

Gabrial’s King didn’t quite get the trip in the Chester Cup but if you go back to his second to Trip To Paris at Ripon then he’s there with a good chance too.

We run Paddy Power in the opening Betfred TV/Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Stakes and I’m afraid it’s got to be a watching brief.

We were extremely disappointed with him at Haydock last time as he’s such a good work horse, but he’s got questions to answer now.

The Betfred Chipchase Stakes is a race we’ve had success in having won it with Utmost Respect and Knot In Wood and I’d say Eastern Impact would be on a par with them.

It’s a competitive renewal but he’s got winning form at the track and goes there in good shape.

Arctic Feeling is entered in the Betfred “Six Best Odds Races Daily” Handicap but he’s also in the Gosforth Park Cup on Friday night and we’ll see how he is.  He doesn’t owe us anything.

Mehdi ran well at York when second to Regal Dan and he would probably have a favourite's chance in the Betfred Membership “Play Your Way” Handicap. He should be right there if running up to that level again.

We also have Bond’s Girl and I just think the handicapper’s got her where he wants her now. She looks to be up against it here.

Woofie did really well to win at Hamilton last week, Sammy gave him a great ride. He’s obviously progressive and we’re hoping for another big run in the Betfred "Keep It Fun" Handicap.

Steve Prescott keeps running well but he doesn’t get much help from the handicapper as a result and the draw in 10 isn’t going to help him in the Budweiser Novice Stakes at Chester.

Bayan Kasirga runs in the Mint Staffing Solutions Handicap and she’s a funny little mare. It took her a while to win last season but she runs herself into form. We’ve left her late this year but I’d expected her to improve on her comeback effort at Thirsk and she’d definitely have a chance.

We also have the top weight English Summer and he’s in good nick but probably needs a lifetime best to win.

Ballesteros would love some rain for the Stella Cidre Handicap. I honestly can’t remember the last time he had his favourite ground conditions but he’s dangerously well handicapped. On balance I’d be surprised if he could win if it stayed quick.

Our Gabrial goes in the Becks Handicap and he ran much better at York. The problem is he keeps giving them a head start, although we’ve done a bit of work with him in the stalls. He’s a funny horse but would have a chance if improving for another slight step up in trip.

Gabrial The Duke will get the trip well. He’s in really good form and is very reliable.

Gabrial is one of two runners we’re sending to Windsor and he goes for the Listed Unibet Midsummer Stakes. He is what it says on the tin, he doesn’t have many secrets but he ran okay in the Wokingham from an unfavourable draw. It just wasn’t to be at Ascot but this should suit him better.

I’m still convinced Supplicant will come good but whether he can win the Unibet Live Ashes Betting On Every Ball Handicap from stall 15 is another matter. We’re sticking with the visor he wore for the first time at York last time.

We’ve got three on Doncaster’s evening card and run Royal Connoisseur and El Viento in the Altrad Beaver 84 Hire & Sales Handicap.

Royal Connoisseur ran a really disappointing race here on his last run but we couldn’t find anything wrong with him so we need to see a bit more from him. El Viento is another baffling us slightly as he never went a gallop at York for some reason. He had a wind operation over winter and we expected him to go up rather than down as a result of that. He also needs to start showing something.

I feel Postscript is handicapped quite well for the Quadro Service Precast Concrete & Modular Installation Handicap and wouldn’t be surprised to see him win.

Bahamian Sunrise runs in the last – the Clair Welch Handicap – and she’s looking to follow up her Redcar victory. It was only a maiden handicap but she won it well in the first-time blinkers and I feel she’s got a big chance if the headgear does the trick again.
