Andrew Balding eyes Solario Stakes for South Seas

Andrew Balding is contemplating stepping the unbeaten South Seas up in both trip and class for next month's Solario Stakes at Sandown.
Although plans are yet to be firmed up for the two-year-old, the Kingsclere handler has earmarked the seven-furlong Group Three contest as a potential target.
After bolting up by eight lengths over six furlongs on his debut at Windsor, the son of Lope De Vega sidestepped an outing in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket's July Festival on account of quick ground.
The Qatar Racing-owned colt made it two wins from as many starts when taking a novice event over the same trip at Haydock earlier this month.
Balding said: "We might look at the Solario with South Seas. At this stage he does not want fast ground, he will handle it at some stage in his career but it doesn't have to be this year.
"He will probably only have a couple more runs this year so we will pick and choose where he goes."
