Splash Of Ginge is set to continue his education over fences back at Cheltenham next month following his emphatic victory there last Saturday.

The Steel Plate And Sections Novices' Chase over an extended two and a half miles is the next port of call for the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained six-year-old after he got off the mark over fences at the second attempt.

Splash Of Ginge had been well-beaten by Ainsi Fideles on his chasing debut at Perth last month, but turned the tables in some style as he ended that horse's five-race winning streak.

``We were over the moon with him. We were disappointed with him at Perth, but the only reservation we had was that he's never run well first time out,'' said owner John Neild.

``We just don't know why that is. He just seems to need the race.

``The jury was definitely out, but I was delighted with him on Saturday and he's at least as good as he was last year. He should improve for the run as well.

``I don't think the handicapper has over punished him with a mark of 146, but the plan was always to go back to Cheltenham for the novice chase at the Paddy Power meeting. Taquin Du Seuil won it last year.''
