Cheltenham sponsors extend deal

JCB has extended its jump racing sponsorship portfolio with a series of three juvenile hurdles at around two miles leading to the Grade One JCB Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. Three new Cheltenham races have been added, at The Open on Saturday, November 13, The International on Saturday, December 11, and Festival Trials Day on Saturday, January 29. All three races will be called The JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial, with the races in November and January holding Grade Two status. The two-year deal runs until The Festival in 2012, at which JCB will be sponsoring The JCB Triumph Hurdle for the 11th time, having begun its backing of the race in 2002. Matt McClurg, GM Brand & Marketing at JCB, said: "We are delighted to continue our support of the Cheltenham Festival and the extension of our sponsorship with the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trials builds on our successful partnership with Cheltenham over recent years." Peter McNeile, Director of Sponsorship at Cheltenham, added: "We are extremely pleased that JCB is extending its sponsorship at Cheltenham. It makes enormous sense for both racecourse and sponsor to link such a famous brand to a related series of top class events, leading to The Festival, which is always the pinnacle of the Jump racing season. "The company has been a terrific partner over the last ten years, and I'm sure that the JCB brand will gain even greater exposure this season, given the number and the profile of races under its banner."
