Verdict
More than half of these are racing from out of the handicap but these fences can be a great leveller. Soft ground suits SPIRITOFTHEGAMES who deserves a change of luck more than most. A couple of early mistakes set him back in the Topham here in April but he gradually warmed to his task and that experience will stand him in good stead today. Senior Citizen was unplaced that day but was only beaten a length in this last year and has managed to complete in all four starts over these formidable obstacles. Al Dancer hasn’t won in more than two years but hasn’t had much racing and could be on a fair mark. Two For Gold has a touch of class and goes well fresh with Jacamar another to consider after a pipe-opener at Chepstow. One True King and Cooper's Cross are recent winners and Lifetime Ambition was second in a Grade 1 at the Punchestown Festival in April. Broken Halo was also in good form at the end of last season but this a tough race for one barely out of the novice stage.
