In depth

Verdict

Martiloo was in good form here and at Ayr in May and appeared to find 3m too far on his final start before his summer break. Romain De Senam was returning from a break when fourth at Market Rasen last month and will strip fitter here. He makes more appeal than stable companion Warriors Tale at the weights. Kauto Riko boasts an excellent strike-rate and can be forgiven his run in a Grade 1 here in April, though connections will be praying for rain. Some Invitation is probably better than he’s shown so far but similar comments can be attached to HELL’S KITCHEN (NAP), who gave the useful Mister Whitaker 12lb and a beating at Kempton last season and could be a force to be reckoned with this winter if he can sort out his jumping. War Sound has squandered easier opportunities in the past but it would be no surprise to see him make the frame again.
