In depth

Verdict

Moidore is on a roll but the handicapper may have over-reacted to his wide-margin win at Bangor. Alzammaar will be popular having returned to winning ways at Ludlow while it would be no surprise to see Sykes bounce back from his tumble at Punchestown. Ballywilliam won at Uttoxeter last month but looks a mudlark and conditions here may not suit. City Supreme was second to the much-improved Theeagleshaslanded at Warwick after scoring at Newbury but has been raised a further 4lb since. VOLCANIC is coming down the weights and finished ahead of Sykes and Alzammaar at Haydock last time. He's better off with both so may be a bit of value on a track where it's never wise to disregard a Donald McCain runner.
