In depth

Verdict

Charmahal is the selection over Bleak House, Mount Sandel, and Keelung, with Nicki Boy and the King pair Poliglotti and The Big Canadian others worth a mention. Charmahal could turn out to be anything in time, having joined Jonjo O'Neill after winning a Ballinrobe bumper in May, and although he has his first outing since, could be worth chancing here as he is sure to have been well schooled by his very much in-form handler. Bleak House is another that has changed stables since opening his account, having been with Tom Tate when landing a Haydock bumper in April. He has to be included in calculations along with Mount Sandel who came good at the third time of asking at Worcester in April. Poliglotti has been gelded since arriving from France where he was placed plenty of times on the Flat, and is worth noting along with stablemate The Big Canadian who was well down the field behind Wichita Lineman at Newbury on the second of his three bumper runs last term. Any support for German Flat winner Nicki Boy would be interesting as well, but we shall rely on Charmahal.
