In depth
Verdict
Over The Creek looked a horse to keep on the right side of when scoring at Cheltenham last week and is fancied to defy a 12lb rise in the weights at the main expense of Billyvoddan and Brooklyn Breeze. The last mentioned has disappointed in two starts this term but Len Lungo has his string in better form now and the seven-year-old is potentially well treated. Peter Monteith's Alam looked a horse to follow when easily landing a handicap at Carlisle last month but the five-year-old has disappointed back on the flat and over timber since then and is probably best watched today. Spring Pursuit seems to be in the grip of the handicapper at present and of more interest may be Turgeonev. Tim Easterby's gelding is well treated in comparison to his current chase mark and has to be respected. Beseiged ran better when chasing home Petrula at Wetherby last week and is another to consider along with Henry Daly's Billyvoddan, who found only Team Tassel too good at Cheltenham's Open meeting a week ago. Team Tassel's trainer Martin Pipe has a good line for his representative here Over The Creek though and he is taken to follow up his Cheltenham win.
