Verdict

Just the four runners but this is still a mouth-watering race with all four of the runners given chances and the vote going to River City. The Noel Chance-trained selection has looked impressive in running up a quartet of chasing victories and, while he is now stepping up in grade, will not lack for experience and looks set to go well. Contraband has been highly-touted coming into this race and proved himself a very good hurdler last season, so afford him all due respect, while Le Passing shaped like a chaser in the making last season and, representing the Nicholls-Walsh partnership, has also to be respected. Liberty Seeker has done little wrong over fences so far but, in fairness, he has to concede weight to the field, which will make life tricky. Once again, then, the vote goes to River City.
