Verdict
Sykes is lightly raced and was well backed on his reappearance at Newton Abbot. He only found one too good, though is 4lb higher here and also upped in grade. COWSLIP rattled up a hat-trick in the spring and was far from disgraced back over hurdles at Hexham earlier this month. George Moore's mare was placed here in May and June and can get back to winning ways. Gone Forever may have gone over the top when pulled up at Market Rasen in May so the best run is best ignored while Tantamount catches the eye off a fair mark and is preferred to Lucinda Russell's other runner Island Heights.
