In depth

Verdict

MIDNIGHT VELVET was no match for the useful Hollies Pearl at Chepstow in March but that will have taught her plenty and there is probably nothing of the winner's calibre in this. Jessie Webster, Handpicked, Kalaniti and Rock Chick Supremo are other likely improvers while La Bague Au Roi is the only previous winner in the race having scored at Newton Abbot in April. Jessber's Dream has won a point-to-point and newcomers Classi Massini and Lady Of Llanarmon shouldn't be left out of calculations as both are jumps bred.
