Verdict

A decent renewal of this Grade 2. Al Dancer, who won the Grand Sefton over the Grand National fences here last season, made a winning reappearance at Chepstow. Hang In There has won his last two but was behind the much-improved Courtland on soft going at Market Rasen in July. Tommy's Oscar defied a big weight to score at Kelso but this trip is an unknown. Jetoile ended the last campaign with two victories at Chepstow but this is a big step up. Minella Drama was well ahead of HITMAN when third in a Grade 1 here in the spring but that wasn’t the latter’s form. He had come out on top when the pair had clashed at Haydock earlier in the season and is a pound lower than when only beaten a head in this last year, though it is a slight worry that the top weight is 0-4 over course and distance. Datsalrightgino won in this grade at Ayr in April and could be one to follow this winter while My Drogo was a top-class hurdler who has only run twice over fences, though he’s been off the track for almost two years.
