KYNREN (NAP) was successful in last year’s renewal when beating Greenside with 2018 winner Raising Sand well behind. David Barron’s charge finished a respectable fifth in the Ayr Gold Cup on his first outing after wind surgery and another bold bid is expected today. The progressive River Nymph bids for a hat-trick raised 11lb while Shelir drops back down in trip and found Blue Mist too good in the International over track and trip in July. The latter has subsequently finished a beaten favourite here when behind fifth-placed Revich, who also has the beating of Wise Counsel and Blown By Wind, while Admirality and King Ottokar still look high enough in the weights.
