Verdict
Prince's Trust was put up a massive 12lb after a very easy victory at Yarmouth and will find this a different kettle of fish but he's probably still reasonably handicapped for what will be only his sixth run. HEAVY METAL landed a similar heritage handicap over the course and distance in July and, though hardly covering himself in glory subsequently, is just 4lb higher and is given the nod to return to winning ways. Heaven's Guest, who won this last year from 5lb lower, was fourth in that latter event and is no better off but ran another fine race in the Ayr Gold Cup last time and has to be on the short-list. Redvers was also behind the selection here in July but likes the track as he showed with a fine second to Safety Check last month when the progressive Almargo didn't run up to scratch. American Hope disappointed at Goodwood last time but his earlier form puts him in the frame in a wide-open contest.
