Verdict

BLUE POINT is looking to put a below-par run in heavy ground at Haydock behind him. Charlie Appleby’s colt won a Group 3 over track and trip in May before finishing third to Caravaggio in the Commonwealth Cup back here and will take all the beating on that form. Magical Memory also struggled in the heavy going at Haydock last time but won a Group 3 sprint at Newbury in July while Danzeno picked up a valuable race over 5f here in the same month. Second Thought won at the All-Weather Championships back in April while Tommy Taylor landed a Listed race at York more recently and Projection went close in the Wokingham over track and trip in June but that trio have more on their plate today.
