Verdict
Cleonte made an encouraging reappearance over 1m6f at Salisbury recently but today’s fast ground in not ideal. Imphal showed good progress in lower grade handicaps last year and is 5lb higher than when scoring at Lingfield in October but Soghan can effectively race off the same mark as when winning at Kempton with an apprentice’s allowance taken into account. Author's Dream notched-up a four-timer over 2m on the all-weather over the winter and can figure dropping back down in class but it could pay to stick with MEDBURN CUTLER (NAP) given the switch to Peter Hedger’s yard has brought a return to form from the eight-year-old having won a tougher race than this at Newbury last month.
