In depth

Verdict

An interesting little race where the trio of contenders look to be quite evenly matched on what they have shown so far. All three have tasted success and are separated by just 6lbs on current official BHB ratings. However, as Prince Nureyev does have to prove his well being after finishing lame in the Derby, it may pay to side with Hawk Flyer to get the better of Island Light. The mount of Kieren Fallon improved for the step up to an extended 10 furlongs at Doncaster last time out and left the impression that there is plenty more still to come from him in the future. He should have no problem with the trip and can add to the already impressive strike-rate form his stable's runners this season. He is likely to be hard to place after being handed a rating of 95, but a race of this nature should be well within him if he is to make a further impact at this level.
