Verdict
Many of these are old rivals so this is a tricky puzzle to solve. TAAJUB finished behind Stone Of Folca and Desert Law at Epsom at the start of June but has improved since and reversed that form with the latter over this C&D two weeks ago when runner-up to Barnet Fair. Zero Money was just behind but, as Roger Charlton's charge re-opposes on identical terms, the placings should be confirmed and Peter Crate's five-year-old can go one better today. Lui Rei was an excellent third in last week's Stewards' Cup at Goodwood and beat Judge 'n Jury at the same track in May. The drop back to 5f on good ground may count against him, however, Steps has a good chance of reversing the May form on 8lb better terms as he came right back to form at Newmarket three weeks ago. Elnawin has a touch of class but the weight to match and is still 3lb higher than his last winning mark while Ahtoug may lack the speed for this.
