Verdict

NORMAL EQUILIBRIUM was forced wide and never looked likely to justify favouritism at Bath on his second start. On 7lb terms, however, he's expected to reverse that form with Blackdown Spirit while The Taj looks held. Roger Varian's juvenile beat two subsequent winners on his debut at Lingfield and can recoup losses on this more conventional track. Botanic Garden is a reliable sort and can go well, despite top weight, while recent winners Equitania and Barracuda Boy also make some appeal and C&D scorer Secret Look may do better back over 5f.
