In depth

Verdict

This race traditionally attracts some progressive sorts and none-more-so this year than LONDON BRIDGE, who bids to maintain a flawless record in handicaps. Despite sitting some 25lb higher in the handicap than he did at the start of his winning streak, Jo Hughes' colt looks still to be on the upgrade and seems more than capable of going in again. Broughton is given a chance to avenge his defeat at Ripon, and while Mark Johnston's charge has gone on to score at Chester in the interim, he still gets to re-oppose the selection on favourable terms. Bold Sniper and Another Cocktail ran respectably in the King George V Stakes at the Royal meeting and have obvious claims of going close. Cafe Society makes a step up in class having won convincingly at Salisbury on his most recent start.
