Verdict

Nahanni represents last year’s winning yard though Epsom’s Blue Riband winner couldn’t adopt his usual front-running style in the Derby and failed to figure. He’s preferred to stablemate Hafit but the unbeaten ELDAR ELDAROV takes his chance in this rather than Friday’s King Edward VII Stakes having defied a penalty over 1m2f at Newcastle on last month’s reappearance - he may prove the one to side with. Ballydoyle have a good record in this and Anchorage will be sharper for a reappearance run at the Curragh while Perfect Alibi and Baltic Bird are maiden winners representing powerful yards with the latter making more appeal than stable companion Emotion. Al Qareem has been winning handicaps though is one of the more exposed.
