Verdict

War Command won this at 20/1 for Aidan O'Brien two years ago but it normally goes to one of the fancied runners with only two winners in the last 12 years being returned bigger than 8/1. Only one of the last 17 winners didn't win his previous race so the six maidens in the line-up appear to have it all to do. AIR FORCE BLUE will need to improve on his narrow victory in a Curragh maiden but that can be taken for granted. He's entered in a couple of Group 1 races later in the year and can land this for the sixth time since 1997 for Ballydoyle by getting the better of Jim Bolger's Naas and Curragh winner Round Two, who is drawn alongside. Wesley Ward's juveniles are always worth a second look here and the speedy Finnegan will probably tow these along in the early stages while War Department looked useful at Leicester. Buratino won the Woodcote at Epsom with any amount in hand but winners of that race rarely thrive here. The so-far unbeaten First Selection could reward each-way support ahead of the Hannon pair Age Of Empire and Eltezam.
