Verdict

Lady Bowthorpe arrives on the back of a second to Palace Pier in the Lockinge having earlier beaten several of these in a Group 2 race at Newmarket, including Queen Power and Lavender's Blue. The former has subsequently won over a longer trip at York while the latter had earlier beaten Fooraat in Listed company on the all-weather. CHAMPERS ELYSEES (NAP) has been racing on testing ground without success since winning the Group 1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown last autumn and Johnny Murtagh’s filly looks worth another chance, despite today's penalty, back on this faster surface. Valeria Messalina finished behind the selection at Leopardstown but Parent's Prayer upped her game to win a Group 3 at Epsom recently and is preferred to the returning Onassis. Agincourt has bits of form that gives her a shout while the progressive Double Or Bubble is also worth a second look upped in class.
