In depth

Verdict

A competitive affair in which SOUTER POINT can take the measure of Peace Corps and Corredor Sun. Nicky Henderson's gelding would not have been suited by the gluepot conditions at Newbury so that run can be happily ignored. Proven on fast ground on the flat, he should get that here and as he has not won races in the past, he can stroll in off a nice racing weight. Peace Corps tries his hand off 10st2lb. He has the size to make a hurdler and ran a fair race at Warwick last time out without pulling up any trees. Corredor Sun is tried in a first time visor. He looked useful when seeing off Screaming Brave at Warwick though has disappointed since. Rougham won an egg and spoon race at Newbury and has a tough task to give away all the penalties. Troubletimestwo is likeable enough though was predictably outclassed at Cheltenham. Fin Vin De Leu drops in trip having not stayed 2m5f last time out. Alhaque has been one to have reservations about despite earning high BHA marks under both codes. Souter Point seems well treated at the race conditions and is our idea of the most likely winner.
