Verdict

Quadrilateral was probably a shade keen in the 1000 Guineas and could only stay on at the one pace, finishing a neck behind runner-up Cloak Of Spirits, who made the running until Love swept by. It was good to soft when she won the Fillies’ Mile last year so today’s much easier conditions will aid her cause but she doesn’t look an easy ride. Run Wild ran right away with the Pretty Polly at Newmarket and is another who will handle conditions but she may not get an easy lead dropping back a couple of furlongs. Sharing won the Breeders’ Cup Turf Juvenile Fillies’ last year and is 4-5 in career starts but the American filly could be all at sea on this surface. The Irish filly ALPINE STAR could go well, however, as she was highly progressive in her first season and won the Group 2 winner Debutante Stakes on yielding ground at the Curragh when So Wonderful was fourth and 1000 Guineas Love only fifth. A mile is certain to suit this year.
