        Verdict

        This doesn't look that competitive a bumper and Locksmith, who is out of a Shirley Heights mare bred by Her Majesty the Queen may be good enough to get off the mark at the first time of asking. From the same family as 12-furlong winner Trumpet, Locksmith looks to have been found the ideal opening. Stablemate Maidstone Mistral didn't shape too badly on her debut and should improve for the experience. Out of a mare that has bred several winners, over a variety of trips, he may be the one to follow the selection home. Randolph O'Brien is from a yard that saddled a bumper winner last weekend and has a 20% strike rate this season with it's bumper runners. Out of a wining hurdler Randolph O'Brien seems sure to play his part. Of the others Granrich, who is out of a mare that won on the flat and over hurdles is one to keep an eye on regarding the future, while Up At Midnight is out of a mare that won over two miles on the flat for Sir Mark Prescott and will probably appreciate a stiffer test than she is likely to get here. So, in what is probably just an average contest Locksmith looks to hold the key to this.
