Verdict

PSYCHOMODO is preferred to Poquelin in what would appear to be a match although Cheating Chance may be able to make a go of it. It was great to see Brendan Powell's charge win so well at this track last time given how heavily he had fallen last season at Sandown when making a race of it with Noland on his chase bow. He does drop back in trip and did jump left handed but he has plenty of gears and appeals as a chaser to follow. Poquelin was due to line up alongside Tatenen at Cheltenham but missed the engagement due to the ground. Nick Scholfield's claim helps to negate the penalty that he carries for his half length defeat of French Saulaie. The runner-up was 24 lengths behind Psychomodo next time but it's probably best to ignore that as the Nicholls runner was value for more than the winning margin at Cheltenham having received a vintage ride from Walsh. They are both exciting prospects and should have too much class for Cheating Chance who won a handicap, albeit well enough, at Stratford off a mark of 114. Psychomodo is the pick.
