Verdict
Richard Fahey trained last year's winner Heaven's Guest while Mark Johnston had the previous two winners, both 33/1 chances. The Yorkshire-based pair are well represented this time and Heaven's Guest returns for another crack from a 3lb higher mark with his young rider claiming 5lb so he should go well again. Stablemate Withernsea has been going well in similar class handicaps while Johnston's pair at the bottom of the handicap, the three-year-olds Whitman and King's Pavilion, shouldn't be dismissed as both look capable of better than they have shown of late. Suzi's Connoisseur ran his best race for a very long time in the Bunbury Cup but could have done without a 2lb rise so the vote goes to LIBRISA BREEZE. Dean Ivory's charge almost landed a huge gamble when runner-up in the Royal Hunt Cup where he might have won with a better draw. Not surprisingly he's gone up in the ratings but 3lb doesn't look insurmountable and he can go one better.
