In depth

Verdict

An open-looking renewal but Larry boasts a decent record around here and it would be no surprise to see Gary Moore’s charge in the shake-up only a pound higher than for last season’s success over track and trip. Flegmatik is 0-5 around here but has placed on his last two visits including last month when finding 2m5f an insufficient test of stamina – he should be approaching peak fitness now. Make Me A Believer made a winning reappearance at Exeter and is closely matched with last month‘s Wincanton winner Blackjack Magic on their run together at Uttoxeter in the spring. Switch Hitter returned with a third over track and trip but stablemate Flash Collonges is having a first run since April. Git Maker is on a four-timer, however, and Gavin Cromwell sends over both Yeah Man and Hascoeur Clermont. Conor Stone-Walsh, a rising star in Ireland, takes a handy 5lb off the latter who is on a hat-trick. VICTTORINO is only five and won a Grade 3 here last month having a first run over fences in this country. He’s clearly talented and could use this as a stepping stone to bigger things in the New Year.
