Verdict
The Carpenter won all three starts over hurdles earlier in the year and makes his chasing debut on his reappearance 5lb higher than his latest success. But MONVIEL (NAP) should have come on for last month’s chasing debut when second on the testing going at Newton Abbot. He won over hurdles on faster ground on this card last year and Harry Denham’s yard is in top form. Supreme Gift also has a recent debut over fences under his belt but Samarrive struggled in both earlier attempts over the larger obstacles.
