Verdict
The likely favourite here is Joint Statement who makes a quick reappearance after scoring at Leicester on Monday and is on a five-timer. However, the race at Leicester was run at a crawl and developed into a sprint, so he is no good thing, especially with a five pounds penalty. Siouxsie Sioux has been anchored with topweight for her handicap debut and has much more to do than when opening her account at Musselburgh 11 days ago. She is a tall, leggy filly who was thought of as Group material at one time, and, only lightly raced, will progress over the winter. On this occasion she and the rest face a tough opponent in the shape of TEAMtalk selection Rhythm Of Life. The John Hills-trained filly used to have an aversion to starting stalls, but has been on her best behaviour of late, resulting in two wins from her last three outings. Her latest effort at Sandown saw the daughter of Dr Devious beat Shershy by a neck, and as Sir Michael Stoute's charge was rated fully 16lbs higher at the time, the form appears solid. She likes fast ground and Richard Hills keeps the ride. Diamond Lover is worth a mention as well, now that Frankie Dettori is back on board. He rode her to her only victory, over a mile at Newcastle at the end of last season, since when she has been campaigned over further without the aid of the Italian. Eagles High has gained all her four wins under Robert Smith and should run well, but the rest are hard to fancy.
