In depth

Verdict

In race two, Lundy's Lane is selected ahead of Nakheel and Great Hawk. Lundy's Lane has run really well in a couple of valuable handicaps of late, looking a lot more like his capable self in the process. With the step up in trip today looking likely to suit, he can go well. Nakheel has disappointed since putting in some good efforts in May but, if first-time blinkers trigger a poistive response, he cannot be ruled out of going well. Realism came good at Chester last time, but that was in a claimer, while One Hour probably has something to prove now following his recent Sandown effort. Great Hawk came good in a first-time visor on his final start last season but was well beaten without the headgear on his seasonal return. It is back on today so you never know. Finally, Bandama is capable of running well on these terms if on one of his better days. Overall, though, the vote stays with Lundy's Lane.
