In depth

Verdict

A low grade affair with some moderate handicappers in action although Native legend is lightly raced and open to a little improvement. Ferdy Murphy's gelding has clearly had his training problems but showed last time that he retains plenty of ability when second here last month. The son of Be My Native should go well if handling these more testing conditions while Tulach Ard will be sharper for last month's seasonal return. Spoof is a thorough stayer who will appreciate the return to this longer trip after being outpaced over 2m4f here last time but Nip On would prefer better ground so the vote goes to Tony The Piler. The seven-year-old will have no problems with either trip or ground and did well over an inadequate test of stamina when runner-up at Carlisle last time out.
