Verdict

DISCANTI has shaped as if ready to strike and he is preferred to Haajes, Cute Ass and Rothesay Dancer. Tim Easterby's horses are in better form at the moment and the selection shaped much better in defeat last time out at Redcar. He has two wins to his name, both in Scotland (one over this course and distance) and on ground that suits he looks sure to run well. Cute Ass was disappointing when last seen in October at Musselburgh when sporting the first-time visor, however she has some good form when fresh and this ground is to her liking as well. Haajes is starting to look well-handicapped so any market move for his would strike a chord, whilst Rothesay Dancer runs this track well and gets on well with Kelly Harrison. Stablemate Blazing Heights has a stiff task from out of the weights, so a bigger threat may be Bo McGinty if he is on a going day as he has plenty of ability. First Order completes the field and is not one to rule out despite his last win coming back in December. Again this looks a tricky handicap but Discanti can reward those who have kept the faith.
