Verdict
MOUNT MEWS (NAP) got tapped for toe on good ground when joint favourite for a Grade 1 novice event at Aintree in April but still finished second. He'd won a Grade 2 on heavy going at Kelso earlier and should have the class to defy a big weight on his reappearance. Don Bersy developed into a decent juvenile last season and may have found 2m3f a shade too far on his final start at Newbury. Gassin Golf has won just once in 21 starts over hurdles and has never run on ground this heavy while conditions could also be too testing for Mirsaale and Martila but Sleepy Haven shouldn't be unduly inconvenienced and is capable of a decent showing. Apterix, however, is better over fences.
