The step up in trip will suit AATASH who is preferred to Cambuslang, Count Bertoni and newcomer Ibn Hiiyyan. Mick Channon's son of Clodovil comes here on the back of a good third to Reeds Bay at Haydock. That form looks solid with the runner-up running well in defeat since and with the step up in trip in his favour he can get off the mark. Cambuslang ran well behind Corporal Maddox at Hamilton last time out and Ian Semple's runner evidently has ability. He has a speedy pedigree but if he takes after his sire then he should see out this longer trip ok and a big run is anticipated. Count Bertoni needs to improve after a disappointing effort last time; Tom Tate's Bertolini colt was perhaps put off by some early bumping on his last start but he needs to improve regardless. The most interesting newcomers look to be Ibn Hiyyan and Layla's Boy. The former represents a yard with a strong juvenile team and this $400,000 well-related US-bred horse is of interest if the market agrees. Layla's Boy was a cheaper purchase but his dam is from the family of the high class sprinter Benbaun and he is afforded respect accordingly. At a price Tukitinyasok could run well, however it is Aatash who is preferred.
