Verdict

POLAR GUNNER can account for his younger rivals although Quicuyo and Raysrock will be no pushover. Malcolm Jefferson's veteran is a regular winner when the mud is hock deep and he looks likely to have those conditions here again. There was no fluke about his recent second to Almaydan at Doncaster and his conditional's seven pound claim should prove handy. Quicuyo made all to take a chase over course-and-distance and has to be respected accordingly. Raysrock was once a useful novice over hurdles. He hasn't exactly set the world alight over the bigger obstacles. First Look is inconsistent though perfectly capable of landing a prize of this nature. Storymaker needs to brush up upon his fencing if he is to take any hand in this. Echo Point was pulled up on his last outing and the market is watched to see if he can make amends. Polar Gunner can make experience count in a race where there are plenty of possible improvers.
