Verdict
Golden Thunderbolt takes a drop in class and can take full advantage in a race that is little better than a seller. The son of Persian Bold had been struggling of late but has come down the ratings accordingly and showed last time when second in a handicap at Sedgefield's Boxing Day meeting that he is primed to resume winning ways. The step up in trip will suit and the ground is no problem so the 10-year-old should take plenty of beating. Gangsters R Us has relatively few miles on the clock and is capable of improvement but may struggle to last home in the conditions. Fountain Brig remains a maiden but shaped as though he'd be suited by a return to this trip after failing for stamina over three miles last time while the ultra consistent Just Sal is another to consider in a weak affair.
