Verdict
From a shortlist of Albertino Lad, Polyphon and Ton-Chee, we will just side with the first-named horse. Polyphon's mark looks fair, and he is respected, while Ton-Chee was very unlucky at Catterick last time and a five-pounds rise might not stop him from going well. Albertino Lad showed that he handles today's course and distance under these conditions last time, on which form he holds Ideal du bois Beury, so he is very much respected. Irish raider General Cloney has a bit to prove based on his recent runs over here, while Mexican is well weighted based on 2004 form and, much as you cannot completely rely on him, a win would not be a shock. Overall, though, we will stick with Albertino Lad.
