Verdict
Albany is unexposed and in form, so should go close against last year's winner Mirjan, Kivotos and Hugo de Perro. Albany made the most of his stamina when stepped up to three miles at Hexham last month and although this is a slight drop back in trip, he should still take the beating. Good enough to score twice on the level at Haydock when trained by Lynda Ramsden, he has plenty of scope at the age of four and is not badly handicapped. Last year's winner Mirjan has not had much racing this term and in any case does not line up at the top of his game, while Hugo de Perro does stay the trip but is a bit inconsistent at present. With Spectrometer having to hump topweight and Onwardsandupwards lacking any sort of gear on the evidence so far, Kivotos could be the one to give the selection most to do. He has won here before, stays well and has posted a number of decent placed efforts so far this term. He makes place appeal, but Albany stands out and can win the finale.
