        Verdict

        SYRIAN can benefit for a drop in grade and he can see off Simenon and Right Step. A comfortable winner on good going at Yarmouth, he found the rise to listed class beyond him at Haydock Park. Soft going at Haydock means invariably that it was very testing so we are prepared to forgive that effort. Simenon drops back in class from an assignment in the Solario Stakes. The Balding yard have had quite a few misses of late so we will oppose today. Right Step landed favouritism at Newcastle in a maiden and is clearly progressing for his racing. Notorize may well find a mile on the sharp side on breeding. Ignored in the betting on debut at Goodwood, he will be even better over further in time. Amanda Kanda is held in high regard by Brian Ellison though needs a career best to figure here. Haltela is tried in cheekpieces while the remainder make little appeal. Syrian can bounce back to form.
