    Verdict

Pass The Port has struggled since winning on the all-weather at Southwell in March and remains a shade high in the weights so preference is for Jack of Trumps, who gets the vote ahead of Lets Roll. The last mentioned is gradually slipping to a fair mark and will appreciate the cut in the ground but could probably do with further help from the handicapper. Mark Brisbourne's Merrymaker has claims on the form shown when chasing home Nessen Dorma at Ripon but is 3lbs higher in the weights now, while the ex-German First Look is difficult to assess on his British debut. The vote then goes to Jack of Trumps, who is one of the few horses to have won for Geoff Wragg this term, handles cut in the ground and remains feasibly well treated.
