Verdict
Not a huge amount of form to go at in this maiden but what we do have suggests that HANSON'D looks the likely winner after a good debut with Green Lightning looking a danger on his own competitive bow and Gritstone is another for the shortlist. This race looks a slightly easier assignment for the pick, who wasn't beaten far in a decent looking York maiden. It will probably turn out that he was only beaten by some good types that day and the fact he was ahead of a subsequent winner is an obvious plus. Green Lightning takes to the racecourse for the first time and while his decent pedigree suggests a good first run is possible the yards two-year-olds have often needed a run this season before getting to their best. Gritstone was only held by a good looking sort last time and should challenge especially with his yard going well while George Benjamin should be in the mix again but is looking a little exposed in this company now. Not the easiest start for punters but Hanson'd looks to have the best chance.
