Verdict

The feature race on the first day of the Western meeting has attracted a decent line-up headed by May’s Chester Group 2 winner Forest Ranger, who has to concede weight all round but can’t be ignored. Richard Fahey also runs course and distance winner Exhort while What's The Story tries to follow up his win in a hot handicap at York. Big Country hinted at a revival at Doncaster last week and Encapsulation has already finished second twice in this grade. ICONIC CHOICE will have stamina to prove but has faced some stiff tasks since her second in the Fred Darling at Newbury in the spring and is the pick of the weights.
