          Juwwi Rarely runs a poor race but has not run over the minimum trip for a long while; is effective at the trip but has not won over it on turf for a long time.

          Atlantic Viking (IRE) Ran best race of a long while last time out on soft at Haydock; should go close if heavens open but likes most surfaces.

          Ptarmigan Ridge Needs luck in running but is smart given a clear run; trip and ground to suit and has good chance.

          Beyond Calculation (USA) Didn't handle Epsom on latest outing but had previously shown speed at Beverley; will go close but doubtful winner.

          Sharp Hat Steadily coming to his peak and would have top-notch chance here if he had shown he handled this track - he has not and for that reason is best left alone in a race of this quality.

          Gdansk (IRE) Closely rated with Atlantic Viking on Haydock run but is too inconsistent to rely upon in this good event.

          Pipadash (IRE) Disappointed last time out at Doncaster; likely to run well if given a clear run and soft conditions.

          Deceitful Occasionally runs a decent effort but is not to be relied upon.

          Sir Sandrovitch (IRE) Slowly coming into the type of form that would see him go close; goes well for this claimer.

          Francport Seems happier over 6f but could be battling for minor honours if putting best foot forward.

          College Maid (IRE) Trainer out of sorts and horse is as well; others preferred here.

          Mr Stylish Funny sort who can let you down at times; not one to rely upon here although has the raw ability to win this.

          Soaked Can show blistering early speed but will be undoubtedly be swallowed up by the 'peleton'.

          Tancred Times Grand old performer who consistently wins races; chance on best of form but may be in handicappers evil clutches.

          Indian Music Has been off the track for a long while since putting in three poor efforts; chance if running to best of form but best watched today.

          Referendum (IRE) No real chance on recent form but trainer is very capable at this track and could possibly.

          Anthony Mon Amour (USA) Another who is hard to fancy on current form but has run well at this track before and cannot be easily discounted.

          Xanadu Not the force he was last season and ran abysmally last time out; would have to be back to very best to land a blow here.

          Alastair Smellie Catterick effort puts him up with the big boys and he relished the fast groung there; goes on any surface and will be involved in the shake up.

          Taras Emperor (IRE) Does not look to have trained on.

          Viewforth Recent effort give him a decent chance - possibly at a decent price.

          Nifty Major Refused to race last time out and could not be backed seriously after that but does have the ability to take this type of event and has run well here before.

          Ho Pang Yau Appreciated the step down to 5f last time out and could be a threat to the leading protagonist

          Mary Jane Not so effective last time out on the dirt but previously had run up to her best at Catterick following good efforts at Thirsk and Folkestone.

          Johayro Old favourite effective over a variety of trips.

          Sue Me (IRE) Has not put her best foot forward in recent outings and is best watched

          Tick Tock Must have good to firm ground and struggles with out it; if in unlikely circumstances ground is fast then this gelding will go close.
