    Verdict

COVIGLIA is in fine form and beat Lucky Violet over 7f here before going close again at Chester. Beaten only a neck over track and trip back in May, Jacqueline Coward’s grey should make another bold bid with Lotara looking the chief danger. The latter was well beaten by the selection here earlier but re-opposes in better form today having finished second at Hamilton last week. Corked and Black Salt have slipped down the weights and could bounce back at any time but Edgar Allan Poe looks stuck on his current mark.
